$0.00

Learn the introductory tips and techniques to grow edible mushrooms outdoors!

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn various methods of outdoor mushroom cultivation including using hardwood slabs. We will explore the ways that mushrooms support our physical health, improve soil quality and drainage, cleans water, and of course, good eating!

Details of the class will include wood selection, mushroom species, inoculation techniques, and the after-class care to achieve successful mushroom fruiting. These easy methods can be a great way to grow nutritious, protein-rich, medicinal foods for you and your family.

Participants will be able to choose between Lions Mane, Reishi, and Oyster totems to inoculate and take home. $75 class fee includes necessary supplies.

Class is led by Rishi and Danny of Micro Alliance, a BIPOC-led alliance of mushroom cultivators and connoisseurs, gardeners and sailors, who believe that everyone has the capacity to grow food at their own leisure and that nutrient-dense foods like mushrooms can support our local food economies and reframe how we think about food, forests, and agriculture.

Rishi and Danny have over 30 years combined experience growing specialty crops and are excited to share the wonder and mystery of mycelium!
